Our client a freight forwarder are seeking to recruit an Ocean Freight Operations Co-ordinator for their North East Branch.

Predominantly our client is looking for someone with excellent ocean Import knowledge and experience, however, if you have multi-modal experience this will also be considered an advantage.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

To build and maintain professional and effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
To monitor shipment movements at all stages, giving special attention to ‘Express’, additional requirements, and sensitive cargo.
To immediately report to management any defect in service or an agreed standard.
To professionally and effectively control necessary documentation for customers, agents and colleagues.
To effectively record relevant information onto databases and maintain the information, all as required.
Providing collection/delivery instructions to the internal transport department by verbal agreement supported by a ‘collection note’, and/or notifying in writing any third party subcontractors of all relevant collection instructions.
To plan the most time and cost effective despatch of each shipment in accordance with the customer instruction.
To plan for the maximum payload/profitability of each shipment/consolidation.
To invoice accurately in accordance with provided tariffs, ideally within 3, but no more than 5 days after despatch of cargo.
