| Job Purpose: The main focus of the business analyst role is to provide data management and database marketing expertise to new and existing global database clients (as well as internal customers), to ensure that their business needs are accurately defined and addressed in the implemented solution and its business application. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced fluid environment, balancing competing priorities. He or she will be skilled in creative problem solving and be naturally curious and driven to learn. The ideal candidate also will combine attention to detail with a broad perspective of a client's business needs. Knowledge of Global Data Management, good communication skills (both verbal and written); project management skills are also important for this role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Business and Data Analysis - New Projects Serve as a core member of the Solutions team for new engagements To lead the business needs analysis process (Discovery) for new and incremental global database marketing implementations - capture, interpret, and document data and business requirements for client approval To translate the business objectives into marketing database requirements and hand over to the Technical team, so that they can build a solution that will enable the clients’ business objectives to be realised To work closely with the Project Manager, Solutions Consultant and Technical Architect throughout the creation process to ensure that the final solution meets the agreed targets Facilitating workshops, meetings and one-to-one interviews (either face to face, or through the medium of the internet) in order to obtain the necessary level of detail and understanding around the clients business processes, their data assets and their requirements, including the preparation and review/closedown stages Carry out Data Audits on samples of client data. This will involve working with the client to get relevant data samples, being able to analyse the data using a data auditing toolset (such as TS Discovery), interpreting results and identifying anomalies. The results will need to be documented together with findings and recommendations and presented to clients Maintain good contacts with senior client business managers throughout the life of the project (particularly those in which you were involved in the creation), and proactively manage their expectations Skills and Experience Required: Experience in global database management/ marketing with a strong understanding of the challenges that marketers face from day-to-day An understanding of SQL and relational database technology in a marketing environment Hands-on experience implementing or using a leading campaign management solution such as Unica, Epiphany, Aprimo, Alterian or Fast Stats Hands-on experience using business intelligence tools such as TS Discovery, Cognos, MicroStrategy, SAS, or Business Objects in a marketing environment Skilled at understanding client business requirements and documenting them in a clear, easy to follow manner Working knowledge of campaign planning, execution and measurement Top-notch analytical skills coupled with a solid business foundation, particularly in marketing topics Experience of delivering projects - either as the project manager/lead, or as a work stream manager, or within a key role that has provided exposure to the customer, the project governance process and project documentation A poised and professional presence and strong verbal and written communication skills The ability to integrate the cross functional needs of marketing, technology, and other areas of an organization into an effective business solution Willingness and ability to travel occasionally Experience both working in an agency environment and working with clients in a data or marketing related function | ||
