Our client is looking for an Air Export Operations Supervisor
The Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting and developing the operational team. The main requirements of this role typically include strong communications and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. You will be expected to oversea the operational team and ensure the team is providing high level quality service to our customers. You will be expected to co-ordinate tasks, and resources to meet customers requirement and department objectives. Another requirement will be to handle pressure and use own initiative to handle customer enquiries.
Previous experience of Supervisory role within the freight forwarding industry
Computer literate with basic knowledge of Excel, Word. Preferred but not essential AS400, Outlook and ASM Sequoia
Good communication and motivational skills, with the approach to delegate and be able to lead by example and make decisions using sound judgement.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Be able to work accurately with good attention to detail.
Excellent strategic, analytical and negotiation skills & the ability to plan, execute and complete a given task within a specified timeframe.
Be able to work as part of a team.
Understand requirements and operational procedures and be able to Identify areas that require
Good organisation skills and ability to oversee others.
Problem solving and Leadership skills.
Flexible attitude with requests for reasonable operational related projects which the company requirements.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Supervisor plays a vital role in the smooth running of the operational team and will also be involved in staff training and development. Your main responsibility would be oversea the operational team providing them with what they require to meet customers needs and requirements. You will also provide assistance to the Assistant Manager with month end and reporting tasks.
Oversee Operational Team
Oversee Staff workload and cover operations when required.
Raising and updating SOPs & Customer Profiles
Delegating tasks to the operational team
Communicating with the team, other departments and branches
Dealing with customer queries
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to organise and prioritise
Ability to motivate others
Ensuring company polices and procedures are followed
Any other reasonable task requested by management team.
The hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday plus Overtime
Salary GBP38K to GBP40K based on experience
