Sound experience of Assist Managing within the freight forwarding industry
Computer literate with basic knowledge of Excel, Word. Preferred but not essential AS400, Lotus Notes and ASM Sequoia.
Good communication and motivational skills, with the approach to delegate and be able to lead by example and make decisions using sound judgement.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Be able to work accurately with good attention to detail.
Excellent strategic, analytical and negotiation skills & the ability to plan, execute and complete a given task within a specified timeframe.
Self initiative.
Be able to work as part of a team.
Understand requirements and operational procedures and be able to Identify areas that require Improvement/change/update.
Good organisation skills and ability to oversee others.
Problem solving and Leadership skills.
Flexible attitude with requests for reasonable operational related projects which the company requires.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
An Assistant Manager serves as a vital support role in an organization, assisting the manager in various operational and administrative tasks. Their primary purpose is to facilitate the efficient functioning of a department or team by supervising staff, ensuring processes run smoothly, and maintaining a high level of customer service or productivity. They are expected to step in for the manager when needed, uphold company policies, and contribute to team development. The objective of an Assistant Manager is to collaborate with the management team to achieve departmental goals and ensure a well-organized, productive, and customer-focused work environment.
Ensure smooth running of your department.
Management of all administration in relation to the documentation, such as, invoices, packing documents, certificates, and other specific documents in relation to the product and export regulations for both UK and the receiving country.
Management of order acknowledgements for all orders and providing customers with order updates and delivery scheduling.
Management of staff (training, performance management, attendance etc),
Review of initial and ongoing contracts.
Monitoring costs and negotiating rates with suppliers
Dealing with customer queries and resolution of issues.
Preparing monthly business activity report & revenue report
Developing new customers on own or with Sales Team
Operation of Quality Assurance system including GDP
Ensuring internal and regulatory compliance and resolution of non-conforming Items
Retention of specified Quality records
Maintenance and identification of staff Training
Assist and support in both internal and external audits.
Any other reasonable task requested by GM.

The hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday
