Our client is looking for a Customs Clearance Co-Ordinator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Customs Clearance Co-ordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods across international borders. You will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing all aspects of customs clearance processes, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and facilitating timely delivery of shipments. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of international trade and customs regulations.

Main Responsibilities

Customs Clearance Management:
Oversee and manage all customs clearance activities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and procedures. Prepare and review necessary documentation for import and export shipments, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, and other required documents. Arrange the accurate and timely submission of import and export customs declarations for air / sea and road freight Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customs clearance, including tariff classifications, valuation, duty rates, and the submission of post entries Contact relevant customs bodies like NCH and or border force to resolve clearance issues.
Communication and Collaboration:
Liaise with internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure smooth customs clearance processes. Communicate and coordinate with external parties, including customs authorities, customers, customs brokers, and suppliers, to resolve any customs-related issues and facilitate the timely release of shipments. Provide guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders on customs-related matters, including tariff classifications, customs duties, and documentation requirements.
Compliance and Regulations: Stay up-to-date with international trade regulations, customs laws, and any changes in import/export procedures. Ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations, including import/export restrictions, sanctions, and licensing requirements.

Work Experience Requirements:
Candidate must have a minimum 2-3 years of experience in a freight forwarding environment, completing import and export customs entries on CDS and used to working in a busy and fast paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft tools - Excellent use of Excel preferred. Proficiency in using customs clearance software systems and related tools - experience with ASM Sequoia or relevant customs software advantageous Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs laws, and import/export procedures including road freight border controls Familiarity with customs clearance documentation, including GSPs, Health Certificates. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate and timely customs clearance processes.

The hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm with flexibility to work weekends and overtime if required
