Our client is looking for an Operations Manager with Multi Modal experience Exports and Imports
Follow, champion and lead by example on all Company Standard Operating Procedures.
Support our business objectives and implement any changes within the operations team to align with current goals and company strategy.
Conduct daily ops meetings to discuss that days jobs and escalate any concerns.
Take a very proactive approach to the operational workflow and actively communicate with staff to support and assist them.
By monitoring the Ops inbox, make sure all jobs are being picked up and delegate work to make sure theres a fair split amongst the team with quotes and live jobs.
Assist in the preparation of departmental budgets to support operational growth.
Perform regular reviews with operations team and maintain communications between UK & US offices.
Identify any operational training needs and have regular dialogue with HR to implement training, mentoring and qualifications.
Manage operations & warehouse overtime requests.
Actively manage the monthly billing by the ops team so were never behind.
Assist the finance team with billing queries.
Drive initiatives in the operations team to improve efficiencies and contribute to long term operational excellence.
Take a hands-on approach to support the full team and back up any short falls.
Provide back up support to the warehouse team if required.
Proactively guide, mentor and support the operations and warehouse team.
Champion our culture of sharing knowledge.
Lead by example on all company policies and procedures.
Essential Skills, qualifications, and experience
A sound knowledge and understanding of multi-model shipments.
Project freight experience (highly desirable).
Previous experience managing a team at a similar level.
Experience with departmental strategy and performance management.
Knowledge of UK Customs procedures and regulations.
Marketing & Sales oriented with commercial aptitude and business development.
Highly motivated to achieve personal success and success of the whole team.
System and process driven with very high attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Dynamic, flexible and always lead by example on our standard operating procedures.
Positive and professional attitude and willingness to help when needed.
Five-year background check.
DBS background check.
Desirable skills, qualifications, and experience
Boxtop experience or similar freight forwarding/cargo software
Full clean UK driving licence
09.00 - 17.30
*Out of hours work is sometimes required to make sure any urgent emails are being picked up*
*Out of hours phone calls will be forwarded to the Ops Manager, however there are limited calls and could be put on a rota if needed*
Negotiable depending on demonstrable experience, skills and knowledge
