Our client who is a leader In Worldwide Freight Forwarding is looking for a Transport Planner to work Varied shift pattern on day shifts 05.00 - 17.00
Key Activities :
Vehicle Routing/planning to ensure GHA and a/line cut offs are met for export deliveries and import collections are actioned in a timely manner to negate storage charges
Arranging Adhoc work with subcontractors
Dealing with Tachograph laws and WTD.
Completion of all daily Transport Paperwork
Record keeping/filing documents
Interact with Airlines their GHAs as well as customer service /warehouse departments with updates and operational irregularities in a pro-active manner
Milestone/timestamp Entries inc POD, arrival time, pick up time etc
Update costs for all Transport movements
Communicate with other depots around day to day operations and maximising vehicle utilisation.
Skills & Qualifications :
Minimum of 3 years experience in Scheduling preferable
Good understanding of LHR and the GHAs that service the A/lines and their handling requirements
Good knowledge of the air freight industry previous experience preferred
Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
Adherence of Health & Safety legislation
Highly Motivated with the ability to multi task
IT Generalist knowledge - Ideally with previous experience working with Transport Management systems and confident using MS office programmes including Outlook, Excel and word.
Attention to detail, customer service, administration and financial awareness.
Level CO aviation security
5 Year checkable work history
