SHIPPING & LOGISTICS CUSTOMER SERVICE OPERATOR

£22,000 basic salary

Monday to Friday 8.30 – 5.00pm

IMMEDIATE START – 3 to 6 Month Contract, leading to Permanent

We are working with a large Global Freight Forwarding and Logistics organisation to recruit a new member of staff to join their Logistics division as an SHIPPING & LOGISTICS CUSTOMER SERVICE OPERATOR. We require a candidate with excellent customer service and Microsoft Excel skills, who is hard working and dedicated in their approach.

A Temp to Perm position (initially a 3-6mth contract) and able to offer an immediate start, it is paying a salary of £22,000.

Day to day duties of a SHIPPING & LOGISTICS CUSTOMER SERVICE OPERATOR will include:

  • Liaising with Customers, Shipping Lines, Rail terminals and companies and hauliers
  • Planning transport movements according to Key Account customer requirements
  • Communication with Ports and shipping points, as well as 3rd party carriers
  • Processing Logistics administration
  • Completing Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets
  • Answering customer and supplier queries and enquiries via email and telephone
  • Updating spreadsheets and KPI reports with accurate data
  • Answering rate requests and agree spot rates with carriers
  • Organisational of special shipments on request
  • Preparing arrival and departure statistics

The successful candidate is required to have ideally worked in the LOGISTICS, SUPPLY CHAIN or FREIGHT FORWARDING industry. Possess outstanding communication and customer service skills, be computer literate including good knowledge of excel, able work with colleagues and customers across all levels in all global locations, remaining articulate and professional.
