Import Customs Clearance specialist x2
The successful candidate will be capable of good liaison with HMRC, our various customers, suppliers and sub-contractors such as shipping lines, hauliers and depots.
He/she will have the ability to maximise profitability, whenever the opportunity arises and to engage with our customers in order to grow their support.
Ideally the candidate must have a proven successful track record of 2-3 years working for a small to medium sized freight forwarder ,with experience of successfully and accurately
preparing and submitting import and export customs entries.
This role would be suitable for someone with a quick brain, who knows how to make the right decision in sometimes difficult circumstances.
A key requirement is the ability to express oneself well verbally and in writing .Excellent work presentation, spelling and grammar is essential. Good maths skills are also required.
He/ She will be reliable, punctual, and have a good understanding of all forwarding operational activities and a good knowledge of the Customs clearance process .
He/she will also have a good telephone manner; be I. T. literate with a good knowledge of CHIEF (soon to be replaced by CDS), Destin8,Word, Excel, Outlook and
PowerPoint ; be able to work well as part of a small team; have drive and ambition and be prepared to undertake office duties of a Customs clearance/Administrative nature.
Good personal presentation and interpersonal skills are essential
