The role will be an inside sales clerk (exports LCL).
The required candidate will need to have deep sea sales experience, ideally working for a forwarder/NVOCC and would need a good knowledge of the export market.
They will be expected to quote clients on a spot rate basis for worldwide destinations, haggle on pricing, follow up rates within a 24-hour window and deal with our overseas offices.
In addition to the day to day quoting they would also need to assist clients with problems, vessel information, passing bookings details to the bookings teams, following up online quotations. They would also need to work from call lists, speaking with regular accounts to maintain relationships and grow new accounts.
In addition to working on clients internally they will need to liaise with our external sales, including myself, to provide any new sales leads for them to follow up, or any issues there may be so that the reps are well versed prior to any visits they may have.
The role is very reactive to emails/calls coming in, but also a lot is expected to be proactive in order to try and fill containers, meet daily targets so there will never be a slow day within this team.
Realistically we are looking for a person with a lot of drive and ambition to join the team as there will always be potential to progress within the company, even outside sales should the need arise.
Salary is in the region of GBP20-25k depending on experience and we are based in Maldon, Essex. We may stretch above this for an exceptional candidate
