Our client is looking for an Operations Clerk with experience primarily in Air and Sea Imports.
JOB DESCRIPTION
A market leader in UK & EU gateway logistics solutions, located just next to the heart of global gateways London Heathrow Airport. Offering specialist bespoke solutions for the international freight forwarding industry, e-commerce business, global courier & postal systems.
PURPOSE
This role sits within our operational department working as part of a varied and diverse operation logistics team. Working closely with the sales and warehouse teams deliver back PMCS etc and, Assisting the business with meeting the expectations and needs of customers and staff by logging customs entries, working with our transport resources to collect consignments from LHR and dealing with HMRC to resolve any holds on consignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting Operations Supervisor with Day-to-Day tasks
Being able to learn new processes and procedures within the operations team.
Completion of daily and weekly tasks to operations staff including monitoring HMRC Queries.
Training to be proficient in new processes so that the whole department achieves a high level of understanding.
Working hand in hand with the warehouse supervisors to ensure that inventory records are accurate with efficient movement of goods.
Working hand in hand with the Business development team to provide the best service available within the time constraints provided
Meticulous monitoring of any customs holds and communicating with the various HMRC bodies to achieve clearance/ resolutions for held entries
Good Understanding of HS codes and CPCS for different types of imports and exports
To work within the company set KPIs
To create a relationship with clearance agents and to have an understanding of their requirements
Liaise by telephone /email / with shipping lines /customers and other Departments and Suppliers
General administration duties
Other duties that may be deemed the responsibility of the job
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
At least 2 years' experience as a Customs Broker focused on Air and Sea imports
Knowledge of customs legislation
Experience in using specialised customs software - Sequoia
Experienced in Import and Export Declarations - CDS
Experienced in preparing paperwork for export including airway bills and generating T1's preferred
Excellent IT skills
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
SALARY
Salary will be up to GBP30,000 Per Anum
Bonus up to 13% of annual salary
WORKING HOURS
4on, 4off on rotating weekly rota (compressed work week)
Mon - Fri: 6am-6pm
Sat-Sun: 7am-2pm
