Import Sea freight Customer Care Manager

Your Role
The purpose of the role is to oversee the smooth running of the sea freight import department; to maintain and develop existing customer relationships; adhering to relevant company operating, financial and QSHE procedures. As a member of the branch sea freight team, contributing to the overall effectiveness, development, management and profitability of the sea freight dept.
Your Responsibilities
Management of the import department, ensuring adequate operational coverage is maintained at all times, through management of rotas and staff holidays
Ensuring that strict Credit Control guidelines are adhered to by all staff
Actively encouraging the training, personal and career development of the departmental team, through the annual PPR process
Active involvement with all import accounts for the branch in conjunction with local Sales
Visiting clients, where applicable, which may involve unsociable hours, and travel outside office hours/UK
Maintaining discipline within the department, in line with company policies and procedures
Recognising and resolving day to day operational problems in conjunction with sales staff
Producing reports, as required by branch management, including financial, service, operational and productivity KPIs
Your Skills and Experiences
Excellent knowledge of Sea freight operational procedures
High level of PC literacy on MS Word/Excel, or similar
Good team player, with the ability to monitor and motivate the staff
Ability to communicate effectively
Excellent organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills
Excellent motivational leadership and influencing skills to achieve results
Ability to work on own initiative and to deliver agreed actions on time
