Role: Shipping Implant
Location: West Sussex
Hours: 37.5 per week, Mon-Fri
Salary: GBP25,000 p/a
Overall Role Purpose:
The Shipping Coordinator will work alongside various departments within a prestigious manufacturer to ensure that the processing of shipments is both compliant and timely.
Your role will be to work proactively to process shipments and/or support with expertise and advice on moving shipments effectively and in a compliant manner. Exception management and information sharing.
Represent the hiring Freight Forwarder with the highest levels of service
The role will require the Shipping Coordinator to be able to deal with various requirements e.g., coordination of Hazardous Shipments, coordination of emergency shipments whilst looking for additional business opportunities.
Build an in-depth knowledge of the manufacturers business, strategies, operations and processes.
Processing of domestic, EU and third country (non eu) shipments daily. This will include the creations of shipping documents, including but not limited to commercial invoices, pro forma invoices, packing lists, relevant permits, dangerous goods declarations, ATA carnets and consular documents.
Ensure departmental shipment processing is executed in line with SOPs and procedures
Produce management reports and attend management meetings together with the formulation and management of the local business plan
Support head office and productions teams with solutions for managing special and/or urgent transportation requests
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven solution design and problem-solving skills.
Excellent coordination skills.
Strong presentation skills.
In-depth understanding of the Freight Forwarding Industry.
5 years forwarding and or relevant transport, supply chain, logistical experience and able to demonstrable capability in customer facing roles.
