Due to growth our client are looking to bring in new team members to be part of our growing customs clearance team.
Within this role you will be responsible for checking shipping documentation, claiming UCNs, classifying cargo and completing customs entries for cargo arriving into UK ports from China.
There will also be an element of invoicing and milestone updates through our Cargowise and internal platforms to ensure our clients have regular progress reports.
Previous customs entry/clearance experience
Good level of IT knowledge
Previous customer service skills
Ability to work in an organised and efficient manner
Able to work as part of a team and also as an individual
Previous experience using Cargowise system would be beneficial but not required

Candidate will have a minimum of 1 years experience with Customs Brokerage.
Import requirements (via CFSP processes):
Liaising with 3rd party carriers and other branches for documentation
Issuing customs clearance instructions
Updating internal systems in line with customer/HMRC requirements
Sending documentation to our off shoring centre
Answering and dealing with any queries
Quality checking supplementary declarations before transmitting
Transmitting declarations to HMRC to align with customer requirements and internal KPIs
Any other specific requirements which are required as part of the customers standing instructions or SOP requirements
Manage shared mailboxes
Work closely with peers to ensure that all accounts are covered during absence.
Identify and support changes to enable the department to streamline process and increase productivity
Any other ad hoc projects which may come up.
Export requirements (via NES processes):
Issue or collect NES information from customers
Send NES information to our off shoring centre
Check and transmit the NES declaration in line with agreed processes
Provide copies of the declarations back to 3rd party carriers or the customer
Salary is between GBP22,000 - GBP26,000 depending on experience

Performing office filing duties
Assisting the senior clerks with completing the day to day Dover road freight customs clearance work
Assisting the senior clerks with completing the deep sea customs operations
Assisting the senior clerks with completing the booking and delivery operations of deep sea containers
Assisting with the completion/amendment of road freight bookings as required
Arranging the stamping of T2L documentation
Assisting with the completion of excise declaration
Assisting with other operational duties within the office at Managers discretion
Dock running when required
Good understanding of Excel spreadsheets and other Microsoft software
