The Artwork Coordinator role is a new position, intended to support and expand the growing, business-critical High Value Works of Art section of our business. The role demands specialist knowledge of specific customs procedures, specialized handling knowledge and often complex booking arrangements. This can include the physical building/offloading of goods and in the case of airfreight, supervision at the aircraft side. A full training Program will be provided to cover these areas as required.
Key Responsibilities are;
Assisting and arranging all customs documentation and entries, both import and export. Knowledge of Air, Sea and Road Freight markets and procedures.
Airline bookings, preparation of export documentation. Handling of original documents such as licenses, ATA Carnets, CITES
In accordance with legislative requirements. e Liaising with Transport Department to book collections, deliveries.
Airport transfers etc. Continuously raise awareness and credibility of Meridian, networking with companies in the industry to showcase our services.

Upon completion of training and a probationary period, the role will require you to take part in a weekend rota scheme for monitoring of shipments, customs entry progression.
3-4 years of international freight forwarding experience, including UK/EU Customs related functions.
Strong knowledge and understanding of import/export laws.
CHIEF, CFSP and NES knowledge.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Experience in handling of ATA Carnets and CITES documents would be advantageous.
Full driving license.

SEAFREIGHT IMPORT OPERATOR – Imports

We are working with a Birmingham based NVOCC Freight Forwarding organisation who are seeking to recruit a new SEAFREIGHT IMPORT OPERATOR to join their small but busy and efficient Seafreight operation department where they are responsible for handling Global shipments for Seafreight Import & Export operations.
The successful candidate will be required to have Seafreight Import hands on operational experience and the day to day duties will include:
§Sea freight import operations from receipt of bookings from clients to arranging collection and booking cargo with carriers/NVOCC operators/Overseas Agents.
§Import Arrival Notices and advising to clients/overseas agents.
§Preparing documentation for Import Clearance, arranging deliveries in-time.
§Import Customs Clearances
§Credit check on accounts in-line with company policy.
§Invoicing/Job Costing (Ensuring purchase invoices are in-line with agreed cost)/Job Admin/Filing.

Primary Function of Job Role
Daily activity is related to multi-modal activities between our suppliers and customers on a global basis. The position requires the employee to arrange quotations, place orders, manage collections and arrange imports and exports to supply worldwide locations with goods from our customers.
Manage and execute multi-modal freight services: majority air freight but also some sea and road
Liaison at all levels with hauliers/carriers/service providers
Liaison with clients vendors/warehouses/suppliers
Liaison with clients distribution centres
Ensure all freight operations are within contractual SLAs and KPI limits
Liaison with clients dedicated Supply Chain Controllers/Managers and day-day staff
Problem resolution for any ad-hoc issues
Maximise revenue for the company
Maintain internal service level
Co-operate with other teams to ensure cost/revenue are processed accurately and on time
Assist with KPI reporting and general team support (holiday/sickness coverage) as and when required
Raising quotations, purchase orders and invoices in line with customer order requirements
Confirm all purchase costs and sales prices are correct and in line with the relevant quotations
Ensure goods are exported through customs using a reputable forwarding agent
Ensure goods are delivered to the agreed point of delivery in line with customer requirements
Dealing with customer and supplier queries effectively
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop, maintain and improve relationships with customers and suppliers
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to existing work processes
Assist other members of the operation as and when requested.
A challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced multi modal forwarder to join the Fairs and Events team based in London.
Experience in airfreight and ocean freight a must with a minimum of 2 years freight forwarding experience.
o Co-ordination of International/European division work in relation to various exhibitions, events, product launches and global tours worldwide.

Their role initially would be to control our 3PL orders, arranging picks from the warehouse, to booking delivery with customer, arranging transport, billing, customer contact etc. and then provide cover for the freight department as required.

The successful candidate will be working with various commodities within the team and must have good knowledge of Exporting goods via air, sea and road, handling all aspects from initial quote to completion of shipment, working with both overseas partners and key accounts.
