Export Clerk (Air & Sea)

Based at an independently owned Freight Forwarding agent based in the Hayes/Hillingdon area.

This role will be a combination of air freight & ocean freight export operations. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years minimum export operation experience, handling the full end to end export process.

Duties will include:

Liaising with shippers
Booking collections
Making carrier bookings
Cutting export documentation (HBOL/MBOL/BOL)
Completing export entries
Sending pre-advice info to overseas partners
Providing high levels of customer service (written & spoken)
Invoicing and other general admin duties.

This is a Mon-Fri role, salary is up to a maximum of GBP28k dependant on the level of experience. Candidates who have only handled Air or Ocean (not both) would be considered if the person in question was keen to be cross trained and was a quick learner.

Customer Service Clerk required to join established courier company based in Colnbrook

Ideal candidate will have international courier experience however our client would consider candidates with a minimum of 6 months office experience within an administration or customer service role.

Daily duties are below (training will be provided):

Liaising with customers and offices via telephone and email
Taking customer bookings
Arranging insurance
Liaising with service providers
Handling customer queries and complaints
Providing quotes
Updating system with PODS (Proof of Deliveries) and any handling reports
Contacting customers for commercial invoices
Updating customers and agents with any collection or delivery issues
Sending off hardcopy PODs to other offices

Full UK Licence and Own Transport is required due to poor public transport to this location

Hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 till 18:00

Salary is between GBP16,000 and GBP19,000 depending on experience

Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow

Track and trace Air Export files and reporting

We are working with a large Global Freight Forwarding and Logistics organisation to recruit a new member of staff to join their International Logistics & Supply Chain division as an AIRFREIGHT LOGISTICS CO-ORDINATOR.A Temp to Perm / Permanent position and able to offer an immediate start, it is paying a salary circa £20,000 - £25,000 + benefits.

The role will be to join an expanding and developing division of a successful organisation working with a large Global Key Account customer, controlling and co-ordinating the International shipments for Import, Export and Cross trade movements of global freight.

Day to day duties of an AIRFREIGHT LOGISTICS CO-ORDINATOR will include:

  • Liaising with Customers
  • Planning transport movements according to  Key Account customer requirements
  • Communication with shipping points and 3rd party carriers
  • Processing Logistics administration
  • Answering customer and supplier queries and enquiries via email and telephone
  • Updating spreadsheets and KPI reports with accurate data
  • Maintain operational documentation and registers
  • Answering rate requests and agree spot rates with carriers
  • Organisational of special shipments on request
  • Preparing arrival and departure statistics

The successful candidate is required to have worked in the LOGISTICS, SUPPLY CHAIN or FREIGHT FORWARDING industry. Possess outstanding communication and customer service skills, able work with colleagues and customers across all levels in all global locations, remaining articulate and professional.

Due to the nature of the role, there is an emphasis on reporting of data and completion of delivery and exception reports, inter country communications and management statistical reporting. Along with previous Supply Chain/Logistics experience and/or Seafreight operational abilities all applicants will need to be IT literate with a good level of Microsoft Excel.

LCL Freight Operator - Urgent Permanent Role,

Duties:

Prime duty is to receive bookings form our internal customer service teams & overseas offices & process in our in house system for shipment as LCL.
All procedures and time frames to followed as per agreed workflows & must be adhered to at all times.
Meet all Company KPI targets and deadlines on a daily basis.
Any potential system problems must be advised to your manager immediately

Customer service teams and Overseas offices to be kept up to date at all times with confirmations and advised of any delays or issues in relation to their shipment.
To ensure that all charges entered are correct as per agreed tariff and/or quotations.
Ensuring any negative discrepancies are investigated and reported to your manager immediately.


Experience / Knowledge

Good understanding within the Freight forwarding industry. Competent with general freight forwarding requirements and procedures relating to Ocean exports particularly LCL
Able to work well within a team and have good communication skills. Able to be flexible, approachable and understanding to satisfy customer needs.
Ability to prioritise workloads in order to ensure efficiency gains
Minimum GCSE standard in English and Maths (or equivalent) essential.

Must have a Freight Forwarding background.
