- We are working with a medium sized forwarder, due to growth looking to recruit a Pricing Specialist - Aerospace Operations ( Air & Ground Freight)
The Pricing Specialist - Aerospace Operations is responsible for developing competitive, accurate, and timely freight pricing solutions for aerospace customers across all modes of transport, including air freight, ground transportation, and multimodal logistics.
This role supports aerospace manufacturers, MRO providers, airlines, and defence contractors by building complex logistics pricing models that account for urgency, compliance, oversized cargo, AOG (Aircraft on Ground) requirements, and global regulatory standards.
The position works closely with Operations, Carrier Management, Sales, and Global Partners to ensure pricing strategies align with service capabilities and profitability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
·Prepare comprehensive freight quotations for:
oAir freight (standard, expedited, charter, AOG)
oGround transport (FTL, LTL, specialized equipment)
oMultimodal and time-critical shipments
·Analyse RFQs and customer logistics requirements for aerospace components, engines, tooling, and oversized equipment.
·Source competitive carrier rates from airlines, ocean carriers, trucking providers, and charter operators.
·Develop cost breakdowns including:
oFreight charges
oFuel surcharges
oSecurity fees
oCustoms brokerage
oInsurance
oAccessorial services
·Coordinate urgent pricing for AOG situations with all international Airlines.
·Ensure compliance with aviation and security regulations including IATA standards and applicable customs regulations.
·Support pricing strategies for key aerospace customers.
·Maintain and update pricing databases and rate sheets.
·Participate in global RFQs and long-term bid proposals.
·Monitor market conditions (capacity, fuel costs, geopolitical impacts) to adjust pricing strategies.
·Collaborate with operations to ensure service feasibility and margin control.
Required Qualifications- Experience
·Previous experience in freight forwarding pricing, preferably in aerospace or time-critical logistics.
·Strong knowledge of:
oAir freight pricing structures
Incoterms
oCustoms clearance processes
oProject and oversized cargo handling
·Experience handling AOG or time-critical aerospace shipments.
·Understanding of aerospace logistics compliance and security requirements.
·Proficiency in freight forwarding systems and advanced Excel skills.
·Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
·Ability to perform under high-pressure, urgent scenarios.
· *Experience with defence or government shipments advantage
Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm all office based.
Salary depends on experience.
