- We are looking for a BDM to join a SME Freight Forwarder:
This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager (eCommerce) role based in Hayes. The Business Development Manager will identify, prospect, and qualify new eCommerce customers, focusing on merchants and brands that require 3PL, fulfilment, and cross-border logistics solutions. The role involves developing and presenting tailored proposals, pricing solutions in coordination with operations and finance, and negotiating commercial terms that align with company targets. The individual will manage and deepen relationships with key eCommerce accounts, monitor performance metrics, and coordinate with warehousing, freight, and customs teams to ensure smooth implementation and ongoing service. Daily responsibilities also include market research, competitor analysis, pipeline management, accurate CRM reporting, and contributing to sales forecasts and business development strategies.
Qualifications
Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within eCommerce, 3PL, or logistics, with a track record of achieving revenue and growth targets.
Strong knowledge of eCommerce operations, including order fulfilment, last-mile delivery, international shipping, and returns processes.
Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships, understand customer requirements, and translate them into practical logistics solutions.
Solid commercial and analytical skills, including pricing, margin analysis, contract review, and use of CRM tools to manage a sales pipeline.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain logistics solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Comfort working on-site in a warehouse and office environment, collaborating closely with operations, customer service, and finance teams.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple prospects and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
Familiarity with UK and international freight forwarding, customs procedures, and 3PL service models is highly beneficial.
Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience
