Location: Heathrow Area
Salary: From GBP23,500 - GBP28,000
Hours: Monday to Friday | 09:00 - 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)
Overtime: Occasional Sunday overtime available
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Trainee Transport & Warehouse Operative to join a friendly, long-established freight forwarding business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career within the logistics industry, with full training provided across both warehouse and transport operations.
Working alongside an experienced team, you'll gain hands-on experience in air freight handling, transport planning and aviation security procedures, with genuine opportunities to develop your career.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, handle and process air import and export freight within the transit warehouse.
Prepare and label export cargo ready for shipment.
Assist with the safe loading, unloading and movement of freight.
Learn the procedures for handling bonded and controlled cargo, including basic ERTS processes.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment.
Support colleagues across the warehouse operation as required.
Assist with organising daily transport requirements using company vehicles and approved subcontractors.
Help coordinate collections and deliveries.
Support the processing of purchase invoices and raising of sales invoices.
Assist with producing and checking operational reports.
Ensure all cargo security procedures are followed in line with current aviation security regulations.
Learn how to maximise the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of transport operations.
Forklift Training Provided.
Warehouse operations and cargo handling.
Air export cargo labelling.
Air import cargo handling.
Transport planning and administration.
Aviation security and cargo awareness training.
Requirements
A positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Reliable with good attention to detail.
Successful applicants must be able to complete a 5-year employment history check and Basic DBS check to satisfy aviation security requirements.
