- Description
- Our client is a medium freight forwarder and has an exciting opportunity for an Air Import Operator.
The Air Import Operator is responsible for managing the complete end to end import process for air shipments from pre-alert receipt through to final delivery and billing.
Role Involves:
·Manage air import shipments from origin to final delivery.
·Receive and review shipping pre-alerts from overseas agents and airlines.
·Verify shipment documentation for completeness and accuracy.
·Create and maintain shipment files within the company operating system.
·Monitor shipment progress and ensure milestones are achieved.
·Coordinate with overseas agents, airlines, handling agents, transport providers and customers.
·Prepare and submit customs declarations using the approved customs entry system.
·Review commercial invoices, packing lists, airway bills and supporting documents.
·Liaise directly with HM revenue & Customs and border force where necessary.
·Resolve customs queries,
·Ensure compliance with all customs regulations, CDS requirements, and internal compliance policies.
·Manage customer expectations regarding transit times, customs delay etc.
·Arrange collections of cargo from airline handling facilities.
·Verify supplier invoices and operational costs.
·Follow DG goods, security and compliance procedures.
Experience.
·Previous experience in airfreight Import operations.
·Strong understanding of end-to-end air import procedures.
·Customs clearance experience using CDS.
·Knowledge of HMRC customs regulations and import procedures.
·Excellent organisational and time management skills.
·Strong customer service and communication skills.
·Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments.
·Good MS office, IT skills.
Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm
Salary depends on experience.
