We are working with a world leading manufacturer who are seeking to recruit an Import & Customer Operations Manager to work in their Birmingham city location, handling and overseeing all aspects of Import shipping and the E2E supply chain.
The role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong Import Shipping knowledge & experience, excellent communication and organisation skills to make a role their own. Having previously worked in Freight Forwarding or International Shipping.
Working closely with the overseas office, customers, agents and carriers to ensure the smooth End to End shipment of goods. Completing Import Shipping operations and working with freight forwarders, knowledge and completion of HM Customs Compliance and Clearances. Strong Shipping documentation skills and experience is also beneficial.
We also very much require the successful candidate who is organised in their approach and able to keep track of global Import and Cross Trade shipments. Liaise with the overseas Head Office and manufacturers, chasing and following up on orders and shipments both via email and telephone and who is assertive, professional and knowledgeable of UK Import Shipment regulations.
Demonstrable experience implementing positive change, improving business processes and successfully delivering operational transformation initiatives, Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously whilst maintaining accuracy and meeting demanding deadlines.

Seeking 3+ years' supervisory or management experience within an international supply chain, logistics, import/export or distribution environment. With extensive knowledge of international freight, import operations, customs procedures and customer account management.
