Business Development Manager - Air Freight / Multi-Modal
Salary: GBP45,000 + GBP6,000 car allowance - negotiable depending on experience
We are recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager to develop new business opportunities within the airfreight sector. Candidates with broader multi-modal freight experience across air, ocean and road freight would be highly desirable.
Key responsibilities:
·Identify and secure new airfreight and multi-modal business.
·Develop a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
·Arrange client meetings and deliver tailored freight solutions.
·Prepare quotations, tenders and commercial proposals.
·Negotiate rates while maintaining profitable margins.
·Build strong relationships with new and existing customers.
·Work closely with operational and pricing teams.
·Monitor sales activity, revenue and gross-profit performance.
·Maintain accurate records of opportunities and customer activity.
·Represent the company at customer meetings and industry events.
The ideal candidate:
·Proven freight-forwarding business development experience.
·Strong knowledge of airfreight imports and exports.
·Multi-modal experience covering ocean and road freight is preferred.
·An established network of customers and industry contacts would be advantageous.
·Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
·Confident communication and presentation abilities.
·Self-motivated and capable of managing their own sales territory.
·Full UK driving licence.
Package:
·GBP45,000 basic salary.
·GBP6,000 annual car allowance.
·Package negotiable depending on experience.
·Commission or bonus structure to be discussed.
