Location: Near Heathrow
Shift: Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 17:00
Pay Rate: GBP13.75 per hour
Weekend Work: Some weekend work may be required on a rota basis
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Forklift Driver to join our client's busy recycling and waste operation.
You will be responsible for safely handling baled materials, loading and unloading trailers and containers, maintaining safe storage areas and supporting the wider site operation.
Previous clamp experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
·Safely remove baled materials from the baler and move them to storage or the Bale QC Operative for checking
·Stack bales safely and correctly
·Load trailers and containers with baled products as directed
·Unload incoming baled materials
·Empty bins of material within the plant as required
·Complete relevant paperwork, including container loading sheets
·Assist the Bale QC Operative when required
·Support general yard maintenance, including industrial sweeping and unloading deliveries
·Assist with the maintenance of the SRF storage and processing areas
·Carry out final quality checks on baled products before they are loaded for sale
·Communicate with the Supervisor and Baler Operator if bales contain excessive contamination
Forklift & Site Duties
·Complete daily forklift maintenance and inspection checks
·Keep the forklift cab clean and tidy
·Confirm loads with the weighbridge before loading
·Complete trailer inspection sheets when required
·Ensure all bales are loaded safely and in accordance with site procedures
·Ensure bales stored outside are picked, cleaned and ready for loading
·Ensure vehicles are loaded safely and efficiently
·Support other site duties when required
Machine Maintenance
At the end of each shift, all plant operators are responsible for leaving their machine clean, safe and ready for the following shift. This includes:
·Checking diesel levels
·Checking engine and hydraulic oil
·Topping up AdBlue
·Fully greasing the machine
·Blowing out cab filters and radiators
·Cleaning the cab and machine
·Reporting any faults or maintenance requirements
Additional Duties
Where appropriately certified, operators may be required to operate other mobile plant on site.
When the plant is not operating, you will be expected to assist with other general site duties as directed.
Weekend loading: Weekend loading days may be required on a rota basis.
What We're Looking For
·Previous forklift operating experience - essential
·Valid forklift licence/certification
·Clamp experience - desirable, but not essential
·Experience working within a recycling, waste, manufacturing or industrial environment is advantageous
·Good understanding of health & safety procedures
·Reliable and hardworking
·Able to work independently and as part of a team
·Willing to carry out general site duties when required
