Depot Manager

DEPOT MANAGER – IRISH & UK ROADFREIGHT

Salary: £48,000 - £52,000 per depending on experience
Location: West Midlands based.

CPC Qualification desired

We are working with a well-established and reputable organisation who specialise in delivering outstanding services for the Irish and UK Roadfreight market, to a wide and varied range of customers.

Our client has many of years experience with depots across the UK and Ireland, delivering groupage, full load and part load freight services.

The role of Depot Manager is to control and maintain the Midlands based site with responsibility for leading, managing and motivating a team to achieve a well-organised, cost-effective environment for the movement of vehicles and freight in a safe, secure and efficient manner, so that company profits are maximised.

Responsibilities will include:

·To ensure the depot strives to increase GP by continual improvements.

·Controlling of cost of the depot and ensuring it is operating within budget and minimising losses and damage.

·Encouraging first class service is offered to all customers and suppliers.

·To plan and organise the control and flow of work through the depot, the movement of transit freight is safe, efficient and uninterrupted.

·Champion of standards in the depot for cleanliness and organisation of premises, staff and ensuring subcontractors and suppliers follow correct procedure.

·Set up and maintain efficient systems for monitoring budget, purchase, invoicing and service contracts.

·Contribute to the information flow within the company by ensuring all staff are aware of company information, procedures and processes.

·Ensure that your team comply with all H&S and legal requirements relating to their work and minimise any risks to themselves, colleagues, sub-contractors and suppliers.

·Motivating and encouraging staff across all departments within the business and leading by example.

For this role we require a candidate who has previously worked in a similar Depot Manager role in the Transport / Roadfreight industry, has experience of managing a team and depot environment. In return our client is offering an excellent basic salary + with future career progression opportunities.
