- ROLE PURPOSE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Shift Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day running of operations during your shift, ensuring the smooth and safe functioning of the site. This includes effective supervision of personnel, maintenance of production standards, and adherence to all safety and compliance protocols.
Your responsibilities will include:
·Acting as the primary shift lead, ensuring the General and Production Managers are kept informed of key operational updates.
·Taking full ownership of shift activities including workforce supervision, output quality, and production targets.
·Driving high standards across all processes in line with company procedures, performance metrics, and safety systems.
·Coaching and developing direct reports, ensuring strong leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
·Monitoring shift performance, identifying opportunities to maximise efficiency and reduce downtime.
·Maintaining clear and timely communication across teams, including comprehensive shift handovers.
·Completing all documentation accurately and promptly.
·Enforcing and promoting a safety-first approach, proactively addressing risks in line with company H&S policies.
·Leading problem-solving and root-cause analysis efforts, taking swift and effective action to resolve issues.
·Collaborating with fellow Shift Supervisors to maintain consistent operations across all shifts.
·Supporting ongoing training and development to meet both current and future operational needs.
·Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to support company growth.
·Upholding housekeeping and cleanliness standards to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
·Using company resources responsibly to ensure cost-effective operations.
EXPERIENCE
Experience of Supervising as a minimal in a high mass volume processing facility
Engineering/Maintenance/Electrical Experience
Management Skills
Worked within the waste / recycling Industry
Experience in running equipment & plant/facilities
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Written and spoken English to a good level
Good working knowledge of Health & Safety and Health & Safety Culture
KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Strong time management and organisational skills
Flexible with shift patterns and working hours
Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities

ADDITIONAL NOTES
As Shift Supervisor, you are a critical leader in the daily operation of the facility. Youll ensure the plant is optimised to process materials efficiently for a minimum of 55 hours per week. Collaboration and communication are key to embedding our safety-first culture and maintaining operational excellence. You will be expected to lead by example, proactively promote best practices, and challenge unsafe behaviours or process inefficiencies when necessary.
