- Our client close to Heathrow airport are looking for an Airfreight Export Operator - 4on 4off Days
Objective / Purpose of the Job:
To process export consignments, administering export documentation, complying with all necessary controls, formalities and procedures, whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy and customer care at all times.
Key Activities / Accountabilities:
1. To collate all the necessary information to ensure all export shipments are accurately and correctly processed, profitably charged out and profit share completed.
2. To offer a high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers, by demonstrating a professional, helpful and positive manner, taking responsibility to ensure that work passed onto others is of a high quality.
3. To contribute to controlling costs and achieving departmental revenue targets.
4. To establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers, provide them with appropriate accurate information and promote additional services to increase revenue.
5. To provide accurate quotations required, maximising shipment profitability.
6. To demonstrate an understanding of Customs requirements, Aviation Security and Dangerous Goods regulations, ensuring that all controls, formalities and procedures are implemented and to be capable of providing information and advice to customers when necessary.
7. To support branches by providing staff cover when required.
8. To deal with any communication into and out of the department in a customer focused, professional manner.
9. To build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues throughout the Company.
10. To ensure that all activities operate within Davies Turner policies and procedures and to demonstrate a commitment to these through their own working practices.
11. To ensure that all documentation, records and systems are accurate and kept up to date.
12. To prepare and present information for the management team as required.
13. To comply with the Health and Safety statement and the ISO and IIP procedures in all areas of responsibility.
14. To carry out such other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job purpose and level of responsibility and offer support to other departments when required.
Person Profile
Essential Education and/or Training:
Preferred but not essential:
Previous experience in a similar role
Dangerous Goods by Air
Aviation Security Level CO
GCSE (or equivalent) 5 or more C grade or above
Good geographical knowledge
Required Behavioural Competencies:
Communication skills
Strong organisational and time management skills
Be hands-on with a strong work ethic.
Teamwork, tact and good interpersonal skills
To demonstrate a positive attitude, with the ability to adapt and problem solve with an optimistic outlook.
The hours are 7.30am to 7.15pm 4on 4off
Salary GBP30K to GBP35K depending on experience
