- As an Airfreight Trainee - you will learn, develop and help drive performance of the company forward thereby creating opportunities for self-career development and those of others following in your footseps
You will work within an airfreight centric team to achieve KPIs and a high level of customer service.
Key Activities:
Coordinate airfreight operations plans and processes in line with business strategy and requirements, global guidelines and policies
Execute day-to-day tasks and activities and meet work schedules and targets at a department/small unit level
Identify and resolve recurring issues, and suggest modifications to airfreight operations work methods focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency
Provide input for processes and design systems to enhance service quality and alignment with companys direction and long-term goals
Identify performance issues of suppliers, and propose solutions to improve performance
May use Industry sector or logistics specialist expertise in their day-to-day work
Participate to develop, maintain and achieve airfreight operations productivity and profitability targets
Ensure that correct costs and revenues are captured by the team against customers profile and react to related excess profit/loss
Support team to deliver excellent quality and to resolve related quality issues
Responsible for team shipment data quality Ensure necessary regulatory compliance procedures are followed relating to commodity and locations
Support new business during the implementation phase
Answer queries, prepare information for customer visits and participate in customer visits relating to operational topics
Engage in tasks and activities that support resource planning and productivity guidelines for the day-to-day operations
Escalation point for existing clients and ensure a desired level of customer retention
Identify opportunities to expand business with clients
Continuously improve in-house customer interaction focused on proactive shipment information incident/complaint management, ad hoc pricing, and claims
Use available tools to proactively monitor and improve performance
Ensure customer invoice timeliness and accuracy
Investigate/support complex invoice disputes
Skills and Experience:
Experience of HMRC procedures - preferable but not necessary
Export/Import experience with a good knowledge of Customer Service & operational / financial processes and systems - preferable but not necessary
A proven ability to identify and meet customer service needs in a professional and friendly manner - preferable but not necessary
Inter-personal skills - Influencing, communication, relationship management, cultural awareness and ability to work across teams.
Results driven and good attention to details
Good written and spoken English and excellent telephone and e-mail skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Able to prioritise and perform under pressure
Self-directed working style
5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C or above - or equivalent desirable.
Knowledge of Freight Forwarding industry: Export, Import and Cross-Trade related processes - preferable but not necessary
Full training will be given
The hours are 9am to 5.30pm. Hybrid working once trained. 2 days in the office.
