- Our client is looking for an Airfreight Import & Export Operator
Job Purpose
Airfreight Import & Export operator is responsible for the arranging and receiving of all import / export consignments on behalf of both internal and external customers in the most efficient and cost effective manner whilst achieving the required service levels. Dealing with all documentation and liaising with Company Partners and our customers and responsible for providing excellent customer service. The Airfreight Import & Export Operator is also responsible for communicating with all internal functions.
Role Specific Duties and Responsibilities
·Dealing with internal and external customers on a day to day basis.
·Developing effective relationships and negotiating with carriers and overseas agents
·Pre-booking identification with Support/Guidance of UK Head of Airfreight.
·Entering HM Customs entry procedures (NES) and ensure MUCRs are closed prior to delivery.
·Ensuring accurate data is processed in systems such as billing and operational functions.
·Supporting the Sales/Product team with the most efficient and cost effective way of transporting goods.
·Cost reconciliation.
·Accruals and cost accuracy.
·Communications will be supplied by the company and to ensure that the role can be fulfilled as per the Job Description requirements. This will include a supply of a company laptop.
·Accuracy and timelines of documentation (AWB/DUCR/MUCR) processing meets KPI requirements.
·Ensure all KPI targets are met.
·Ensure optimum service is provided by our Vendors and Suppliers.
·To support jointly with the Commercial team a sales plan and target account platform for key accounts.
·To develop and maintain personal expertise in operational systems and processes.
·To represent the Company in a positive and professional manner, ensuring that the corporate DNA and family values are adhered to at all times.
·To monitor all Accounts with the customer service team to ensure low and nil spend customers are immediately identified and relevant follow up action is taken.
·Liaise with all new and regular customers on all queries and issues through regular contact by telephone.
·Constantly evaluate processes and procedures and suggest possible improvements.
·Responding to customer enquires professional and promptly.
·Liaise with all new and regular customers on all queries and issues through regular contact by telephone or email.
·To manage and ensure accurate data is entered into system including key tracking events, invoice timelines.
·Comply with all relevant work and safety legislation, standards and organisational procedures and UK security regulations.
·Developing relationships with the Sales Team to share customer knowledge and provide business support.
·To fully understand and be conversant with the standard operating procedures.
·Liaise with customers on all queries and issues.
·Process collection and delivery notes and pass to transport.
·Organise customs clearance.
·Advise of delivery dates according to lead times.
·Advise operations of special requirements.
·Provide POD where required.
·Deal with all invoicing and queries - reply in 24 hours.
·Create spot quotes and generate business from existing customers where possible, with the support of the commercial team and the UK Head of Airfreight
·invoice timelines.
During the weekend multiple department cover is required
Raising collection notes for Import shipments
Previous experience in Freight Forwarding essential
Salary up to GBP35K
The hours are 9am to 5.30pm Tuesday to Saturday although they will consider someone on a Monday to Friday basis.
