Daily communication with our UK and overseas clients from booking stage to final delivery
Coordinating Export bookings
Liaising with UK customers to obtain load details and commercial paperwork
Arranging Customs Clearance
Raising bills of lading in accordance with country and customer requirements
Invoicing and sending pre alerts in a timely manner
Raising consular documentation
Building and maintaining client relations for new and continued business with customers
Working within the export department to ensure seamless solutions for clients
Experience / Skills Required:
Current experience in customs clearances and Knowledge will give any applicant an advantage.

Key duties and responsibilities:
Handle daily operations team for sea operations for both import and export
Client Liaison and Escalation point for problems.
Effective and efficient management of the operational team.
Ensure service levels are maintained.
Support the team in their daily duties.
Monitor haulage failure and late deliveries.
Address failures and analyse root cause. Implement corrective actions to avoid repetition of failures. Analyse trends on conformance failures to implement change. Deal with non-standard issues as they arise. Train new staff in all procedures. Empower staff and encourage progression. Identify and implement new procedures. Identify potential sales opportunities and pass same to Sales. Support Regional Manager. Log and resolve IT/System issues. File review and check before final sign off. Check and approve suppliers invoices. Assist other branches and departments. Person Specification: Ample industry knowledge on sea freight operations and documentation. This role is primarily accountable for providing our customers with a consistent and positive experience. This individual will act in accordance with strategy, tactical and operational guidance put in place by the ocean product organisation.
Main responsibilities within this role are expected, as a minimum, to manage and maintain individual file level profitability, revenue recognition and cost control leading to the highest level of financial health per shipment. In addition to this you are required to carry out any other duties as reasonably required by your manager.

Import Logistics Clerk
To service customer requirements for freight & logistics and to assist in other areas within the operations department.
Daily communication with overseas agents, receiving new bookings and route selecting based on movement type and customer.
Receive documentation from overseas agents, checking and allocating to files.
Reference jobs within forwarding system (ie. Multifreight)
Ensure that jobs are kept up to date with latest vessel and arrival information.
Check that original Bill of Lading or telex release is present.
Arrange FCL & LCL deliveries as per customer requirements.
Selecting haulier based on price/service and booking haulage with chosen haulier.
Advise charges to consignee prior to delivery date, selected customers only.
Collection of funds for non-account customers.
Obtain releases for LCL/FCL shipments as required.
Check off quay dates/times each day.
Use Port Community Systems (Destin8 / CNS).
Any other task which is reasonable within an office environment.
