Our client is looking for an Ocean & Air Co-ordinator to service a large account the majority of which is cross trade and mainly Seafreight Exports from anywhere in the world to Africa.

Responsibilities
Building strong customer relationships providing them full visibility on progress through proactive communication
Completion of customs entries via Sequoia
Co-ordination/follow up of shipments (Export/Import - Multi-modal)
Completion of Customs process (export/import)
Documentation/administration/invoicing/filing onto digital system
Operational troubleshooting
Quotations upon request
Non-conformance reporting in accordance with the KPIs.
Co-operation with approved subcontractors in accordance with agreed rates
Meeting financial end of month deadlines both accruals and sales invoices
End to end processing
Punctual and flawless order handling and documentation
Feedback to the customer (internal and external reporting of the shipments to the customer) by various means (mail, phone, EDI)
Liaise with the Sales dept with future sales lead
Cross-tradeknowledge/understanding
Understand Import and Export Procedures
Knowledge of handling Out of Gauge cargo

Qualifications/Experience
+3years of detailed experience of logistics and forwarding operations/regulations and documentation
CDS knowledge beneficial
Preferable a professional degree by a licensed educational institution specialised in logistics and forwarding, but not essential
Computer literacy with Microsoft Softwareapplications and/or other marketleading software applications
Previous and relevant airfreight forwarding experience is essential
Extended customs procedure knowledge is necessary
Knowledge of IATA regulation and Maritime Guidance is an advantage
Knowledge of INCO terms
Knowledge of HAZ & Pharma will be beneficial
DG trained beneficial
Seafreight and Roadfreight knowledge will be beneficial
Courier knowledge will be beneficial

The hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm with possible hybrid working at the Managers discretion

A well-respected Freight fine arts company is currently working with us to recruit.
Provide support to colleagues and junior members of the team.
A good knowledge of I.T and shipping methods.
Provide quick but accurate responses to enquiries and estimate requests.
Maintain existing client base and build relationships with new clients.
You will be required to book transport, crate orders, liaise with agents, clients, airlines, shipping lines and other bodies within the industry.
Maintain files electronically in a clear and detailed order.
Projects to be managed and delivered within the time/budget constraints of the estimate provided, whilst keeping clients informed of any changes.
Ensure all work is handled in a confidential, professional and consistent manner.
You will need to constantly plan your workload to meet deadlines.
In-house training will be provided.
There may be occasions where you will be required to be flexible with your working time depending on the project.
Normal working week is Monday to Friday 0900 to 1700 hours. However, there may be flexibility to either 8-4 or 10-6 subject to approval from GM.
Flexible working pattern office/home is offered after a successful probation period.

Prepare & complete Customs Control submissions for Imports & Exports.
To work with all types of cargo and all necessary associated tasks.
To use company vehicles on occasion to deliver and collect paperwork and or shipments.
To undertake any training courses required to understand and complete job tasks.
To co-ordinate Group project tasks as and when directed.

Will look at less experienced and train up.

Job Brief:
Our client is a successful and well-established freight forwarder, currently going through significant growth. This company specialises in time sensitive cargo, predominantly in the aviation and pharmaceutical industries, where the highest levels of customer service are always required on a 24/7 basis.
The role is extremely varied where you will become a key member of an operations team, actively involved in managing imports and export shipments from start to finish. You will be responsible for arranging shipments by the appropriate method to suit the clients requirement i.e. airfreight, road freight, courier and sea freight. You will be hands on with every aspect of the forwarding process, ensuring the customer receives the highest level of service, and that they receive their goods safely and on-time. The client frequently transport dangerous goods, so any knowledge of hazardous cargo, would be advantageous.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Airline booking and processing relevant import/export documentation including AWBs, CMRs and BOLs.

Requirements
a) Skills and experience:
Minimum 3 years experience in in a start to finish role ideally in Air Freight Imports.
Customs entry experience (imports, exports or ideally both) with a great understanding of Customs procedures and the Customs Tariff.
Knowledge and awareness of dangerous goods.
Customer service - excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
Computer literate - high level on Microsoft Word/Excel.
Experience in time sensitive cargo including pharmaceuticals and aviation is advantageous.
In house systems - use of BoxTop or ASM Sequoia would be advantageous.
b) Desired characteristics:
Hard working & enthusiastic with a high level of attention to detail.
A positive can-do attitude, with a willingness to learn/take responsibility and develop new skills.

Customs Coordinator - Heathrow (Days)

We are looking for a Customs Co-ordinator to be part of our Logistics team based at our London Heathrow Office. You will assist in areas of customs, directing and supporting multiple parties to ensure timely clearance of goods.

Duties and Responsibilities
To Co-ordinate Import and Export activities for the resident site, conforming to HM Revenue & Customs regulations and the following governing departments & organisations using the appropriate business systems where applicable.
Checking & monitoring of Freight/courier invoices for payment ensuring accurate costing, charging to project where applicable in a timely manner
Co-ordinate and control dispatching of goods
Liaise with Customs legal counsel to check Export controls and licensing requirements
Ensure all HM Revenue & Customs duty liabilities are fulfilled, minimising cost
Liaise with, customers, suppliers, necessary agents and customs authorities to address any issues/questions arising from business activities
Check invoices for both import and export brokerage and liaise with the broker / finance to resolve any invoice / payment issues
High volumes of data entry on spreadsheets
Ensuring insurance claims are given to the claims department immediately
Raising necessary paperwork concerning all movements of Dangerous Goods
Making customs entry amendment requests to HMRC
Any other ad hoc tasks as and when required and instructed by the Line Manager
Support with any work related to ETSF

Skills, Experience and Competencies
Working experience of Exports/Imports & Customs Compliance and regulations (at least 2 years experience)
Knowledge of customs requirements and formalities with particular focus on UK & EU imports
Experience in road transport, logistics or haulage (Desirable)
HMRC amendment and reclaim experience.
Proficient with Microsoft packages especially Ms Excel and other
Must be able to prioritise and organise own workload with attention to detail
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Must be flexible with their working hours.
