Fully accountable for the performance of the operation whilst proactively seeking ways to improve cost, service & operational efficiency. Ensure all resources including third party are managed, planned, and controlled to achieve the agreed service levels.
To manage all areas of the warehouse sortation in an efficient cost-effective manner to ensure depot key KPIs are achieved e.g., sortation compliance, Vehicle Departure times, quality of sortation.
To assist the Depot Manager to manage and control the budget to achieve the agreed service levels Including productivity, labour costs, overtime usage, Agency usage.
To deal with depot recruitment as authorised by the Depot manager to the Company standards.
To maintain the health, safety and welfare of all employees and visitors and control the overall security of the depot.
To comply with health and safety regulations by ensuring Safe Systems of work, risk assessments, accident investigations and reporting is completed and reviewed on a regular basis.
To ensure that the companys policies and procedures are always adhered to including the management of absence, Labour Turnover etc.
To ensure all employees are developed within the companys guidelines and that all necessary appraisals, reviews are maintained up to date.
To performance manage direct reports, setting and monitoring key objectives
All required MI reporting documentation is maintained to the required standard & on time.
To ensure that the Company security processes are maintained at all times & the control/safekeeping of all company assets are maintained
To liaise effectively with suppliers where appropriate
Skills and Experience - Management experience
Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines
PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office
Good communicator and able to liaise at all levels
Flexible approach to work to meet business requirements

Overseeing the scanning department - Ensuring security procedures and deadlines are always met
Previous experience in a similar role
Full driving licence due to location
Level D / CO Security (training can be provided)
Full 5 year checkable work history
Physically fit due to some heavy lifting

Established forwarder currently recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Credit Controller x2
The Accounts Receivable Credit Controller, is responsible to collect on assigned accounts, monitor activity to identify trends impacting payments and issues, monitor credit limits, review account balances, accurately record and allocate receipts.
Review and contact customers via email and phone regarding past dues
Contact stations/sales reps regarding billing issues
Notify stations/sales reps of high risk customers to be placed on hold
Release/approve customer accounts
Research credits on account due to overpayment and/or misapplication
Record and allocate receipts.
Weekly/Monthly AR reporting
Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary
3+ years work experience in accounting and knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting procedures.
Knowledge and experience of freight forwarding accounting desirable.
Ability to effectively communicate in an oral and written manner with professionalism while conducting oneself according to policy. Proper grammar, spelling etc. should be reviewed prior to sending written communication.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CargoWise,
European language skill advantageous (German or Italian)

Salary is between GBP24,000 - GBP29,000 depending on experience

Maintain a safe working environment by applying a Safety First approach to working

Daily checks to be completed of all mechanical equipment to ensure they are safe to use
Assist with load and unloading of vehicles, checking against notes to ensure accuracy of receipt or dispatch of goods.
Quality - Ensure the inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances to the supervisor.
Raise concerns/issues with Supervisor/Line Manager as soon as they are noted
Booking in of all incoming stock and storing in a safe manner. Ensuring these are put in the correct locations.
Order Picking - Pick and prepare products for shipping, ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
Warehouse security - keeping warehouse secure, reporting any discrepancy in stock to the Supervisor and warehouse never left unattended when shutters are open.
Assisting in all warehouse roles, not just one primary role.
Flexibility with hours to suit the company requirements.

We are working with a small Freight Forwarder, who have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager. The role is to start ASAP
The Finance Manager is the sole accounts person for the organisation, Good in-depth knowledge of Sage 50 and other Sage packages is essential, also ideally experience of working for a freight forwarder.
Covers all the accounts processes, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, responding to queries and raising credit notes where appropriate for two separate companies.
Also the individual will be responsible for several accounting functions, including invoicing and updating prices and costs in the system.
Daily responsibilities include:
Prepare every Monday morning a list of clients that are at risk and update Directors.
Deal with supplier and expense payments, BACS and cheques.
Credit Control. Updating Directors of any issues with late payments.
Purchase invoice checking against contracts.
Supplier statement reconciliation
Raising and posting of sales invoices
Sales Ledger/Credit Control, working alongside the companies Bank and factoring facility.
Debtors plus reconciliation between SAGE.
Queries and credit notes/additional invoices, Raise credits on system.
Setting up new accounts, setting credit limits and ensuring that customers trade within these.
Cash allocation/ bank reconciliations including commercial banking
Purchase Ledger payments runs
Processing of credit card payments and employee expenses
Liaising with company accountant on a quarterly basis, producing VAT returns& posting to HMRC online.
Some aspects of payroll
Manage courier exchange Portal/Payments.
On average the role is split 30% Sales Ledger, 30% purchase ledger and 20% Credit Control, the rest split on other accounts functions.
We are looking for an individual with the above experience, good organisation skills, and experience of working to deadlines.
