Freight Inside Sales - FCL Part time or Full Time

New vacancy working Part Time hours has become available within this well-established freight agent based close to Basildon.
You will be working within the Inside Sales FCL department.
In the context of this Inside Sales role within the team, the candidate will be the primary back-up to the operational person in the event of absence. This will require the individual to understand of process the full operational process from booking, through shipment to customer invoicing.
The ideal candidate would either have a broad sales/operational background for FCL business or perhaps comes from a more operational background and looking for a new sales challenge.
The role is for 25 hours per week (FTE 0.67) but could be worked either 3 full days a week or from 9.30am - 2.30pm Monday to Friday, so would be ideal for someone trying to fit a job around other requirements.
The salary is negotiable and dependent upon experience.
The FCL department is a small team so ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role within the Freight industry
Duties to include
· Manage Internal Sales enquiries for FCL Ocean Freight, providing Client quotations.
· Follow up client quotations, promoting booking/s, inducing feedback relating to rating and service opinion.
· Feedback Client responses and provide input regarding Department strategy.
· Work with Carriers to provide competitive and commercially viable service offerings for new and existing customers.
· Negotiate buying rates for both spot rates and longer term offers, maximizing profit to achieve GP objectives.
· Maintain and develop relationships with Client and Carrier contacts to facilitate negotiation.
· Achieve specified shipment booking, revenue, and Department objectives.
· Ensure proper and timely handover of Sales Order Processes, customer contract agreements and relevant details to all operations.
· Always maintain excellent customer and inter-departmental relationships giving regular feedback to line manager.
