We have an exciting opportunity for an Import Customs Clearance Co-Ordinator to work for an established forwarder.
Hours Monday to Friday either 9am -5.30pm or 9.30am-6pm all office based.
MAIN WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Import Customs Clearance Co-Ordinator to work closely with the import team and HMRC.
Reporting to the Supervisor.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Customs clearance clerk, to join our busy team prepping and clearing shipments through HMRC.
· Preparation and clearance of Customs Declarations for Airfreight imports.
· Preparation and clearance of pre-lodgements and T1 for Road imports.
· Liaise with HMRC directly regarding Import issues.
· Maintain and update internal systems to support the movement of goods.
· Ensure accurate and timely lodgement of Customs declaration.
To supply a high level of service to both internal colleagues, suppliers, and clients alike when completing import customs formalities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Booking in airfreight shipments from pre-alerts,
· Working with the customer service team to ensure all information is provided by the customer prior to arrival of goods in the UK, and on occasions deal directly with customers.
· Ensure accurate customs declaration and compliance with all import regulations.
· Monitoring/tracking shipments and keeping all parties updated of any delays.
· Be able to identify any potential problem areas before they have an adverse effect on operations.
· Create ETSF records on ASM Sequoia and maintain ETSF paperwork.
· Monitor and work from a shared email inbox and answer incoming calls
· Work closely with the inhouse transport team to ensure collections and deliveries meet customers requirements.
· Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
· Work with the import team to continually improve processes and business performance.
· Support changes in the role necessary to take the department and business forward; and
· Work to achieve personal objectives set at appraisal and/or those set monthly or quarterly.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
· Achieving agreed individual objectives; and
· Understanding and adhering to all Woodland policies and procedures relevant to the role.
REQUIREMENTS
· Experience in customs procedures and clearances.
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· Proactive and self-motivated individual who can work on their own and within a team.
Salary depends on experience.
