Our client is looking for a Night Transport Clerk to oversee their Night Transport operations.
The successful candidate will report to the Transport manager and will be responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling of night movements throughout the fleet of vehicles.
Salary GBP37,000 - GBP40,000 depending on experience
Monday to Friday 19.00 - 07.00
Responsibilities:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills written and over the phone
· Liaising with Drivers / Hauliers and Operational Departments
· Transport knowledge / experience
· Competent in transport regulations
· Ability to maintain accuracy whilst under pressure
· Excellent PC skills using Microsoft excel and in-house transport management system
· Ability to use own ability and work unsupervised
· Excellent team player who is good at working closely with other team members
· Monitor driver performance, recording & escalating where required to the Transport Manager
· Planning next day activity
· Plan ATF (Airport Transfer) collections & deliveries
Knowledge and Competencies Required:
· Airfreight Transport knowledge and experience
· Busy and pressurized transport department experience
· Microsoft excel / PC Literate
· Flexible working approach
· Good geographical knowledge
· Team player - flexible and committed
· Transport management system experience
· Ability to make own decisions
