Job Description

Import LCL specialist

working in our clients offices, UK Customs & Border Agencies, Shipping Lines/Co-loaders as well as various stakeholders to move LCL cargo worldwide. Move LCL cargo worldwide. Specialists are responsible for ensuring service commitments are achieved and maintained in accordance with customer and company objectives by following the best practices and processes set forth by our clients as well as HMRC rules and regulations.

Key Activities:
Retrieving data / instructions co-ordinated from foreign exports stations and creating master files for all UK import LCL containers and co-loads
Following Customs processes and procedures for bonded import cargo
Creating and reviewing weekly container Devan plans in accordance with warehouse capacity and customer KPIs
Arranging release of import containers with carriers and booking transport to inland warehouses
Co-ordinate consolidation of export LCL freight trying to maximise container utilisation
Booking export container loading requirements with carriers and warehouses
Preparing and sending necessary paperwork to UK handling stations, suppliers, and overseas offices for all UK export LCL containers
Daily tracking and tracing to monitor container / vessel status
Managing any inbound / outbound cargo discrepancies
Communicating updated cargo status to customer service / operations teams
Always maintain compliance standards- including internal policies and procedures, external government regulations and customer requirements.
Accounting - issuing billing & arranging payments for supplier invoices
Reporting of LCL gateway related activities.
Skills & Experience & Educational Qualifications:
Minimum 2-3 years experience in ocean imports and/or exports
Ability to work with demanding deadlines
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Good PC skills - use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Cargowise useful
