Job Specification

About the Role

We are seeking a professional and experienced HGV2 Driver to join our transport operations team based in Heathrow. This is a key position, offering the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the efficient movement of freight across the South East and beyond. This is a permanent, full-time role with regular Monday to Friday working.

Key Details

Salary: GBP38,000 per annum

Location: Heathrow, London

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Key Responsibilities

Operate HGV2 vehicles safely and efficiently in compliance with all applicable road traffic legislation and company policy

Conduct thorough pre and post-journey vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical defects or damage promptly

Plan and execute routes efficiently within working hour restrictions to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements

Load, unload, and secure freight safely and appropriately, ensuring compliance with weight distribution regulations

Maintain accurate records of journey times, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation

Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and management regarding delivery status and any issues

Maintain professional and courteous conduct with customers and internal stakeholders at all times

Comply with tachograph regulations and driving time limitations

Contribute to maintaining a safe and professional working environment

Requirements

Essential:

5-10 year referencing

Valid Category C driving licence (HGV2) with no serious endorsements

Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) or willingness to obtain/renew

Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to apply)

Tachograph and Hours of Work regulations knowledge

Good physical health and fitness to carry out the role

Full right to work in the UK

Flexibility to work occasional overtime when required



Desirable:

Experience with modern vehicle telematics and digital tracking systems

Knowledge of cargo security procedures and best practice

Experience in South East logistics/forwarding operations or Heathrow area

Familiarity with airport operational procedures
