About the Role
We are seeking a professional and experienced HGV1 Driver to join a growing transport operations team. This is a key position within the logistics operations, offering the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the efficient movement of freight across the UK.
Location: Heathrow
Salary: 42k
Hours: Monday to Friday - 9am-5pm (Overtime available Saturdays)
Key Responsibilities
Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently in compliance with all applicable road traffic legislation and company policy
Conduct pre and post-journey vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical defects or damage
Plan and execute routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements
Load, unload, and secure freight safely and appropriately, ensuring compliance with weight distribution regulations
Maintain accurate records of journey times, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation
Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and management regarding delivery status and any issues
Maintain professional conduct with customers and internal stakeholders at all times
Comply with tachograph regulations and driving time limitations
Requirements
Essential:
Valid Category C+E driving licence (HGV1) with no serious endorsements
Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) or willingness to obtain/renew
Minimum 2 years' recent HGV driving experience in a professional capacity for insurance purposes
Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to apply)
Tachograph and Hours of Work regulations knowledge
Good physical health and fitness to carry out the role
5-10 year referencing
Full right to work in the UK
Desirable:
Experience with modern vehicle telematics and digital systems
Knowledge of cargo security procedures and best practice
Experience in similar logistics/forwarding operations
Professional trailer operation experience
