Location: Office-based
Working Hours: Monday-Friday
Salary: GBP25,000 - GBP28,000 per annum (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Road Freight Co-Ordinator Trainee to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in freight forwarding and European road freight.
Key Responsibilities
·Co-ordinating European road freight imports and exports from booking through to final delivery.
·Liaising with customers, hauliers, overseas agents and suppliers to arrange collections, deliveries, and customs clearance.
·Preparing and checking shipping and transport documentation.
·Tracking shipments and proactively dealing with delays or issues, ensuring that customers are updated accordingly and in a timely manner.
·Assisting with, and learning how to complete, customs and transport documentation.
·Checking supplier and shipping invoices for accuracy.
·Assisting with quotations where required.
·Maintaining accurate records and ensuring files are completed correctly and entered on internal systems.
·Developing an understanding of European road freight, customs procedures and international logistics.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
·Highly organised and has excellent attention to detail.
·Keen to learn and develop a career within freight forwarding and logistics.
·Comfortable working in a busy environment and managing multiple tasks.
·Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues - written and verbally.
·Able to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
·Proactive and reliable.
·Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
·A good team player with a positive attitude.
·Able to identify mistakes and inconsistencies and take the initiative to resolve them.
Experience
Previous freight forwarding or logistics experience is not required. Full training will be provided.
Previous experience in an office, customer service, administration, transport or logistics environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
