Key Requirements
Minimum 3 years experience within the freight forwarding/airfreight industry.
Full working knowledge and practical experience of CDS Export procedures.
A stable employment history, with no more than two jobs in the last five years.
Strong knowledge of airfreight export processes from start to finish.
Previous experience working with airlines, overseas agents, customers and suppliers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.

Job Specification Airfreight Export
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and completing airfreight export shipments from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Contacting shippers and managing shipment requirements.
Arranging collections and coordinating with relevant transport providers.
Preparing and cutting MAWBs and HAWBs, demonstrating a strong understanding of:
Country-specific requirements.
IATA rates.
Airline requirements.
Operator variations.
Promotional references.
Negotiating with airlines to achieve maximum margins.
Completing Customs entries accurately and efficiently.
Demonstrating knowledge of more complex Customs procedures, including:
IPR.
Bonded shipments.
Export licensing.
Using the companys Customs software.
Preparing quotations and demonstrating a strong understanding of current market rates.
Maintaining high levels of customer service throughout the shipment process.
Providing overseas agents with post-flight information and departure advice.
Proactively identifying potential issues and implementing practical solutions to ensure shipments progress smoothly.
Acting as a reliable safety net, ensuring that nothing is overlooked or missed throughout the export process.
Working effectively within a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong email management and prompt response times.
Communicating confidently and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with customers, overseas agents, airlines and internal stakeholders.
Taking ownership of shipments and ensuring all deadlines, customer requirements and operational procedures are met.
Desirable Qualifications
The following qualifications and experience would be advantageous:
Dangerous Goods training/certification.
Aviation Security training up to CO (Cargo Operative) level.
Previous experience using Customs software such as Descartes.
Strong knowledge of current airfreight export procedures and industry requirements.
