£28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience
We are looking for an organised and detail-focused HR & Payroll Administrator to join our client who is a fast-paced manufacturing business.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with numbers, systems and people, and who can manage deadlines in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accurate weekly and monthly payroll, including starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, shift premiums and other adjustments.
- Process PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, student loans, attachment orders and statutory payments, including SSP and SMP.
- Check attendance and payroll data, investigate discrepancies and ensure all changes are authorised and accurately recorded.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations and summaries for HR and Finance approval, issue payslips and respond to employee payroll queries.
- Provide day-to-day HR administration across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contracts, employee changes, absence, family leave and leavers.
- Complete right-to-work and pre-employment checks and maintain accurate, confidential employee records across HR, payroll and time & attendance systems.
- Coordinate approved recruitment campaigns, including adverts, interviews, offers, references, onboarding and inductions.
- Liaise with approved recruitment agencies and manage agency/leased personnel records, including hours, rates, assignments and end dates.
- Check agency timesheets and invoices against approved records, resolve discrepancies and maintain recruitment and agency trackers.
- Support HR policies and employee relations, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence processes.
- Prepare HR correspondence, meeting notes, case files and action trackers as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and escalate complex HR, payroll, employee relations, data protection or statutory matters to the HR Manager.
About You
- At least 2 years' experience in an HR and payroll role.
- Strong end-to-end payroll experience, including weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Good knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments.
- Experience using HR, payroll and time and attendance systems.
- Strong Excel, numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to query incomplete or incorrect information.
- A high level of discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and agency personnel.
Desirable
- Experience with OneAdvanced, Flexipay, TMS or SAP SuccessFactors.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, shift-based or fast-paced environment.
- A recognised HR, payroll or CIPD qualification.
