- Freight Pricing Coordinator
We are working with an established freight forwarder seeking an experienced Freight Pricing Coordinator to prepare competitive quotations, negotiate supplier rates and support new and existing business.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers, carriers, overseas agents and internal teams to provide accurate pricing while maintaining service standards and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and competitive freight quotations.
Obtain and negotiate rates with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers, couriers and overseas agents.
Respond promptly to customer enquiries and internal pricing requests.
Assess customer requirements and identify suitable routing and service options.
Review buying rates, selling rates and profit margins.
Maintain current rate sheets, tariffs and pricing records.
Support the sales team with tenders, RFQs and new business opportunities.
Follow up on quotations and record customer feedback.
Build relationships with carriers and suppliers.
Liaise with operational teams to ensure quotations reflect shipment requirements.
Monitor market rates, capacity and surcharges.
Ensure quotations clearly outline costs, transit times and service conditions.
Maintain accurate information within the freight management system.
Skills and Experience Required
Previous pricing or quotations experience within freight forwarding.
Strong knowledge of air freight; road and sea freight experience would be beneficial.
Experience negotiating carrier and supplier rates.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of costs, margins and profitability.
Confident using freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office.
Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication, organisation and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple pricing requests and meet deadlines.
A proactive and customer-focused approach.
