- Our client is seeking a motivated Airfreight Import Team Leader to join their Heathrow operation. In this key role, youll support the Assistant and Department Managers to deliver best-in-class service, leading a team to ensure efficient import operations, compliance with industry standards, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of strategic and operational goals for the Air Freight Import department.
Lead, support, and develop your team to ensure high performance, engagement, and professional growth.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, HMRC regulations, and industry standards (including BIFA).
Manage day-to-day air freight import operations, ensuring shipments are processed efficiently and accurately.
Drive customer satisfaction through excellent communication, issue resolution, and proactive service delivery.
Monitor and manage client activity, supporting new business opportunities and customer retention.
Review job files and invoices for accuracy, ensuring cost control and profitability.
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Development, and Global Trade Management teams to support customer meetings and service improvements.
Prepare and deliver accurate and timely KPI reports, customer updates, and operational data.
Deputise for the Assistant Import Manager as required.
Experience required
Proven experience in Air Freight Import operations, ideally in a supervisory or team leader capacity.
Strong understanding of freight forwarding processes, customs compliance, and import documentation.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
Commercial awareness and understanding of cost control and profitability.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Effective communicator with clients, colleagues, and partners across all levels.
Proficient in freight management and finance systems (experience with One World and MultiFreight advantageous).
High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and compliance.

Competitive Salary up to GBP45K depending on experience and excellent benefits
Hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm
