- We have an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected freight forwarding company close to Heathrow. Due to continued growth, our client is looking for an experienced Freight Forwarding Coordinator to become part of their busy operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous freight forwarding experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and expanding business.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a variety of import shipments, with imports accounting for approximately 80-90% of the workload, alongside a smaller volume of export movements. You will coordinate shipments from origin through to final delivery, ensuring a high level of customer service and operational efficiency.
The role will involve handling shipments across multiple transport modes, including:
Air Freight (essential experience required)
Sea Freight
Road Freight
Rail Freight
While experience in Air Freight is essential, training will be provided on the other transport modes for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage international import shipments from booking through to delivery.
Handle a smaller volume of export shipments as required.
Liaise with overseas agents, airlines, shipping lines, hauliers and customers.
Prepare and process shipping documentation accurately.
Arrange customs clearance where applicable.
Track shipments and provide regular updates to customers.
Resolve any shipment issues or delays promptly and professionally.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company procedures.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Provide exceptional customer service while managing multiple shipments simultaneously.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience working within Freight Forwarding.
Essential experience in Air Freight operations.
Knowledge of import procedures.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
The ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines.
Excellent customer service skills.
Good attention to detail and a proactive approach.
Car driver is essential
What's on Offer
Competitive salary of GBP25,000 - GBP40,000 depending on experience.
Monday to Friday working hours (9:00am - 5:30pm).
