Multimodal Freight Forwarder – Oceanfreight-Orientated

Offering a salary of up to £30,000 per year, depending on experience. 

Based in Birmingham. 

Provisional start date of 10^th May 2024.

We are working with a Birmingham-based multimodal freight forwarding organisation, who work within Oceanfreight, Airfreight, Roadfreight, Import & Export, Cross Trade, Domestic, Consolidation and/or Warehousing.

Duties of the Multimodal Freight Forwarder will include:

• Handle the import and export of Oceanfreight and Airfreight shipments.
• Taking initial enquiry and making bookings with Shipping Lines, Hauliers and Airlines.
• Producing and processing all Shipping Documentation and instructions, Customs Entries.
• Invoicing and billing out, maximising profitability.
• Negotiation of rates and costings.
• Following up on quotes and building strong rapports to gain repeat business.

We are seeking a candidate who has gained strong experience of working in Freight Forwarding Operations and is conversant in Seafreight and Airfreight Import and Export shipments. Someone that possesses strong communication skills with a keen eye for detail and excellent knowledge of the Freight Forwarding industry.
